Power BI – introduction (1 day)

A one-day workshop

This introduction to Power BI Desktop provides a condensed yet balanced look at the data analysis process. It starts by showing you how to import and connect to data from different sources, including Excel, CSV files and the web. It then focuses on the process of shaping and cleaning data, plus appending tables in the Query Editor.

The course ends with a look at the Power BI online service, publishing reports so we can easily share them with others.

Learning objectives

You will learn how table relationships work in the Data Model, the very foundation of Power BI. Writing DAX formulas is also included in this course, allowing you to create more dynamic visuals. You will learn how to create interactive dashboards using both the built-in visuals and the online custom visuals.

Who should attend?

Managers and others who need to use or create reports and tables to support business management and decision-making.

Some knowledge of Microsoft Excel is preferable.

A very practical, interactive one-day session for a maximum group size of 8. Comprehensive materials provided, including exercise files and a unique step-by-step guide developed by the trainer specifically for this programme.

This programme can also be delivered virtually.
